Report 10th International Conference on “Inclusive Collaborative Practices in inclusive settings: Practitioners’ Perception 20-22 December 2022

BROTHERHOOD organized the 10th International Conference from 20-22 December 2022 on “Inclusive Collaborative Practices in inclusive settings: Practitioners’ Perception” in collaboration with the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (Divyangjan) (autonomous body under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India) and the GIEN (Global Inclusive Education Network), an initiative of the Centre for Disability Studies and Action, School of Social Work, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai (TISS, Mumbai)and Brotherhood, Delhi.
The participants from India and other countries, including USA, UK, Philippines, and Bangladesh, participated and presented papers/case studies. The practitioners were from educational institutions, including special schools, regular schools (Primary, Middle, Secondary and Senior Secondary) and universities, including the principals, scholars, regular teachers, special educators, counsellors, and other professionals in the field of education of children with and without disabilities in inclusive settings—teacher educators from DIETs, Colleges of Education and Departments of Education of various Universities.
The papers/case studies invited were based on research, evidence-based practices; inventions; innovations and how assistive technologies and ICTs support teaching-learning, including the experiences of the scholars, students, teachers, school management and parents in inclusive settings.
Prof Bipin Jojo, Dean of School of Social Work, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai was the Chief Guest, Dr. Hemlata, Deputy Director, National Centre for Disability Studies, IGNOU and Dr.Pankaj, Asst.Professor NIEPVD, Dehradun were the Guests of Honour. The faculty of TISS Dr Srilatha Juvva and Dr. Sandhya Limaye was also present along with Satish Kapoor, Founding President, Brotherhood.
