PURPLE INTERNATIONAL SUMMIT ON INCLUSIVE   EDUCATION

Unlocking the Power of Inclusive Education

9-11 JANUARY 2024

The Purple International Summit on Inclusive Education-INCLUSIVE PRACTICES, RESEARCH, AND INNOVATION was organised from 9 to 11 January 2024 by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (DEPwD); Ministry of Social Welfare, Government of Goa; the Rehabilitation Council of India, Delhi; the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities, Chennai; the State Commission for Persons with Disabilities, Goa in collaboration with the Global Inclusive Education Network (GIEN); Centre of Disabilities and Action, TISS, Mumbai, Brotherhood, Delhi and DRAG, Goa. The Summit was held at the Maquinez Palace-2, Dayanand Bandodkar Marg, Campal, Panaji, Goa.

At the Summit, practitioners from India and other countries gathered and shared their knowledge, innovation, and inspiration. The practitioners presented their evidence-based researches and insights at this Summit. Thirty-six papers were selected and compiled into a book that promises to revolutionise inclusive education practices.

INTERNATIONAL PURPLE FEST 2024, Goa celebrates diversity and inclusivity and aims to showcase how we can unite to create a welcoming environment for everyone. The festival features a variety of live performances, including stand-up comedy, dance, music events, and various sporting activities, such as a blind automobile rally, bird watching, film screening and live art camps.

PURPLE INTERNATIONAL FEST 2024 Goa also includes conferences, workshops, and exhibitions showcasing the latest assistive technologies developed for persons with disabilities (PwDs) aimed at learning about and trying out new technologies that can help improve their daily lives.
